(1) Nobody had demanded for merger.
(2) No demands were made from both the Union Territories.
(3) It was reported in the newspapers that the demands for merger were received from the administration in the central government. Then what about news given to the media by the administration? Was it with aim to spread misinformation in the people?
(4) Only one paper was sent to the Cabinet meeting for passing Dadra and Nagar, Haveli and Daman and Diu (Merger of Union Territories) Bill, 2019.
(5) So was the bill passed in the cabinet without any discussion? What can be discussed on just one paper?
(6) Our honourable MP Shri Lalubhai Patel informed the nation through Parliament that the people of Daman and Diu wants Daman-Diu and Dadra-Nagar, Haveli to be merged into one another to form a new Union Territory.
(7) According to the information given, the honourable Member of Parliament blatantly lied in the Lok Sabha. No one from Daman-Diu or Dadra-Nagar, Haveli has demanded the merger.
(8) According to the information provided by the Ministry of Home Affairs, there were four petitions opposing the merger.
(9) Although four petitions opposing the merger and not a single petition in support, the merger has taken place.
(10) The administration at the time of the merger claimed that this would save the government money. But the government has nothing concrete on records on the matter, exept gossip.
(11) There was no demand for the merger, the information that the government will reduce the expenses has been proved wrong by the information received. Now the question is, on whose demand two different territories with different cultures and laws were merged and what could be the benefit to those who carried out this scheme?
